METAK becomes the official sponsor of the first national triathlon championship

On October 6, the first amateur tournament Baku Triathlon 2019 was held with the organisational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Triathlon Federation (AFT).

Triathlon is an Olympic sport, a tournament including three consecutive and non-stop stages (swimming, cycling and running). Among some 20 distance categories available, the most popular ones are the 5150, Ironman 70.3 and Ironman.

METAK was one of the sponsors of the event aimed at promoting and developing triathlon in Azerbaijan. By promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle, METAK tries to constantly support such competitions.

The competition was held at the sprint distance of the European Games Park. It started with a 0.5 km swimming round followed by a 20 km bike ride and a 5 km running rounds.
